Sunbathing, swimming, sports and wonderful walks!
Sunbathe contentedly in the summer, or swim or play sports – or stroll from one beach tent to the next (it’s 24 km to Westkapelle and there’s beach all the way). In the winter, it’s peaceful and you’re at one with nature, enjoying the sound of the sea. There’s almost nothing that’s more beautiful and peaceful. The beaches of Walcheren (including the beach at Vrouwenpolder) have been awarded a blue flag for many years now, meaning that they are the prettiest and safest beaches in the Netherlands! The beach at Vrouwenpolder does not have any breakwaters; it is wide and safe, child-friendly and accessible for wheelchairs.
To help make you comfortable, you can hire loungers, windbreaks, parasols and beach huts. You can use the showers and toilets free of charge and there are lifeguards to help make sure you are safe.
The beach is maintained and cleaned daily by the Strand Exploitatie Veere. Sunbathe, swim, play with the children in the sand and in between for a refreshing drink in one of the many beach pavilions.
